Two legislators have introduced measures that would allow dogs on restaurant and bar patios in the state of Ohio. The ORA is in favor of giving business owners a choice to have dogs outside. Celebrity chef, restaurateur, James Beard award winner and television star Michael Symon has been named the keynote speaker for the 2018 Mid-America Restaurant Expo. The Expo is scheduled for January 28-29 at the Greater Columbus Convention Center and will be a restaurant-centered business-to-business trade show like none other in the Midwest. Symon’s keynote speech at the Expo will take place on Sunday, Jan. 28.
As demand for restaurant delivery continues to rise, eateries are faced with the question of whether they should launch a delivery service to build sales for their locations. A new study by the Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) and the Cleveland Research Company tracks the foodservice industry and highlights sales and delivery trends in the Buckeye State. Key findings: 40% of respondents are now using small order delivery for their restaurant customers with UberEATS the top choice for delivery. Amazon Restaurants was second, Door Dash third, Grub Hub fourth and Postmates fifth.
