The ORA History & Vision

Celebrating more than 90 years serving Ohio's foodservice industry!

Founded in 1920, the Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) is backed with more than 90 years of industry experience that the association relies upon to serve our membership.

Since the association's inception, the ORA has been committed to providing Ohio's food service professionals with everything they need to run their businesses. As the only statewide organization with a full-time lobbyist and political advocacy program devoted exclusively to the foodservice industry, the ORA remains focused on serving its members.

One example of the ORA's efforts on behalf of its members was its successful efforts on paid sick leave. Through its work alone, the ORA has saved the average restaurateur approximately $10,000 - $20,000 annually. Thus, restaurant operators have more money in their pockets at a time when every little bit helps.

The ORA's Vision

The ORA will lead Ohio’s restaurant industry into a new era of prosperity, prominence and participation in enhancing the quality of life for all we serve.

The ORA's Mission

The ORA exists to help our Ohio members – the cornerstones of their communities – build customer loyalty, rewarding careers and financial success.
