The SEIU website states: “People across the country will be standing up with fast-food workers, child care workers and all 64 million underpaid workers making less than $15, because it’s time for $15.”
Such rallies have been a Big Labor tactic over the last few years; however, this is the largest series of demonstrations the SEIU has planned.
The Ohio Restaurant Association (ORA) is opposed to mandatory hikes.
“Voters cannot legislate prosperity, and a radical, mandated wage hike would kill jobs,” said ORA Director of Communications Natalie Walston.
The ORA is available to comment, on behalf of its members, on any media inquiries regarding this issue. Please contact Natalie Walston at 614-246-0112 or firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information on the economic impact of a mandated $15 minimum wage, click here.
