A total of 41 teams of high school juniors and seniors participate in this fast-paced competition for a chance to win hundreds of thousands in scholarship dollars to further their education. More than 60 foodservice industry judges, including chefs, restaurant owners and marketing professionals, will oversee the contest.
Culinary teams will prepare healthy three-course meals while management teams will develop a business proposal for a new restaurant concept. The winning teams will represent Ohio at the National ProStart Invitational in Charleston, SC. Last year, Ohio's Polaris Career Center from Middleburg Heights won the national culinary competition.
Click here to register for the event; the cost is $20.00 for both days.
"This competition is the highlight of the year for Ohio ProStart students," said Ohio Restaurant Association Education Foundation Executive Director Patty Halper. "They work hard to all year to shine at this event."
