For nearly 100 years, the ORA has proudly served Ohio’s restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industry to promote, protect and partner with our members.

The ORA is pro-business on issues that are important to our members’ bottom line. We support ideas, legislation and proposed laws that will stimulate the economy and protect the growth of our industry statewide and nationally. We oppose ideas, legislation and proposed laws that could harm the success of our members’ businesses.

Our advocacy initiatives are guided by the member-led ORA Government Affairs committee, which includes board members and restaurant professionals. This group meets on a regular basis, along with ORA staff.

We also operate a Political Action Committee (PAC) and employ lobbying support to represent members at the Ohio Statehouse. We actively engage in many coalitions to influence laws and regulations and are active in the Ohio General Assembly, with state agencies and with local government and community leaders.

Our approach to working with government officials is non-partisan. We respect all views and regularly meet with members of both major parties to represent our industry.

The Ohio Restaurant PAC enables restaurants and other allies in the foodservice industry to help elect candidates from both parties to the Ohio General Assembly who are supportive of the free enterprise system and businesses.
