The ORA is pro-business on issues that are important to our members’ bottom lines. We support ideas, legislation and proposed laws that will stimulate the economy and protect the growth of our industry statewide and nationally. We oppose ideas, legislation and proposed laws that could harm the success of our members’ businesses.

Our advocacy initiatives are guided by a member-led ORA Government Affairs committee, which includes board members and restaurant professionals. This group meets on a regular basis, along with ORA staff.

We operate a Political Action Committee (PAC) and employ lobbying support to represent members at the Ohio Statehouse. We actively engage in many coalitions to influence laws and regulations and are active in the Ohio General Assembly, with state agencies and with local government and community leaders.

Our approach to working with government officials is nonpartisan.

We respect all views and regularly communicate & meet with members of both major parties, nationally and locally, to represent Ohio's restaurant, foodservice & hospitality industry.
