ORA Industry Awards & Hall of Fame – Attend the Restaurant “Grammy’s” for Ohio on January 13, 2019
The ORA continually strives to rise from good towards great in everything we do.
Recognizing leaders is something you see at great institutions, and the ORA is serious about this responsibility. Think of the Medal of Freedom. Nobel Peace Prize. Most Admired Companies (Fortune). Hall of Fames in professional sports. Top Salesperson. Most Valuable Players. The Tony’s. Golden Globes. The Grammy Awards.
Awards allow us to recognize the best. It’s our opportunity to shine the spotlight on winners for blazing trails, achieving amazing breakthroughs and success and positively influencing lives. Awards enable us to share stories of accomplishment and sacrifice. And, awards give us the opportunity to be inspired by excellence.
On January 13, 2019, the ORA Industry Awards Celebration is a gala will recognize outstanding restaurant professionals throughout Ohio. The event in Columbus includes a reception at 5:30 p.m. at the award-winning M restaurant and our 6:00 p.m. awards dinner at the beautiful Ivory Room at Miranova, overlooking the city.
If you’re involved in the restaurant, food service and hospitality industry in Ohio, this will be the place to be on Sunday evening. These are your people and your peers.
A year ago at our awards, we were inspired by many stories and leaders. Ian Brown of the acclaimed Whitney House in Worthington was Restaurateur of the Year in Central Ohio. Two years ago, Jeff Ruby of Cincinnati won the award. In 2018, we celebrated the career of Dan Young, who has guided Young’s Jersey Dairy in Yellow Springs, with the Lifetime Achievement award. And, Mike Haunert, president of Sysco Cincinnati, accepted the award for the ORA’s best Vendor.
So, who is going to win this year at our 2019 awards? The nominations were A+ and the nominees are all deserving. Our Executive Committee of the ORA Board and our staff poured over all of the candidates and voted on the VERY best.
We can’t wait to share the winners of all of the awards, and especially look forward to announcing our Rising Stars (think brew pubs and juice bars), Tech Titan, Front of the House, Innovator of the Year, Nourishing the Community and the Lifetime Achievement award. New this year will be our inaugural class of the ORA’s Hall of Fame.
Join us on January 13.
