Best "Behind the Scenes" Employee

The Lifetime Achievement Award: The ORA’s highest recognition, this award is given to one restaurateur of a member company for exceptional lifetime service to the restaurant, foodservice & hospitality industry and their community. Nominees must be an ORA member for 10+ years and active in the industry for at least 15 years.

The ORA Ambassador Award: This award is presented to an individual of a member company or a member company who embodies the core mission of the Association to promote, protect and serve, and who works to better the industry as a whole. Any restaurant or vendor member of the ORA is eligible to receive this award.

Outstanding Vendor Award: This award goes to a member company recognized for its exceptional service to the restaurant, foodservice & hospitality community.

Outstanding Public Official Award: This award honors public officials who advocate for the best interest of small business owners and the restaurant, foodservice & hospitality community, as a whole.

Outstanding Industry Educator: This award honors an educator who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to the advancement of Ohio's restaurant, foodservice and hospitality industry.

Ohio ProStart® Student of the Year: Recognizes an outstanding ProStart student who embodies the ProStart core values of leadership, passion and community, and shows great promise and aptitude for a future career in the industry.

Industry Innovator: This award is presented to an individual of a member company or a member company that has applied a new product, creative approach or has used technology to enhance their operations to grow or transform their business.

Spotless Award: In partnership with local health departments, this award honors a member company with an outstanding cleanliness and food safety record.

Rising Star: Honors an emerging leader in the restaurant, foodservice or hospitality industry; one whose work demonstrates ongoing, exceptional growth and high potential for future industry impact.

The Ohio Restaurant Association Hall of Fame (up to 3 inductees): The ORA’s Hall of Fame was founded in 2018

to recognize the best and brightest leaders in the industry who have served with distinction and align with the ORA’s core values. To be nominated and considered for this prestigious designation, an individual or entity must have operated in the restaurant, foodservice and hospitality business in Ohio for at least 25 years and be an ORA member.

Award Criteria

1. Nominees may be an individual, a team or a partnership with one or more foodservice industry business operations and an ORA member. Nominees may be working, retired or deceased. There is no limit to the number of individuals nominated. Self-nominations are allowed.

2. Each area of the nomination form must be completed for the nominee to be considered.

3. All recipients are strongly encouraged to attend the Industry Awards Celebration event.
